The Position:

The Development Support Engineer will use his or hers understanding of an API and will help train and onboard new OEM partners as well as support existing OEM partners with their integrations. Additionally, this role will need to monitor the progress of the new OEM partners and help them deliver solutions in a timely fashion.  This role requires the use of judgment, critical thinking, risk tolerance and independent decision making when managing caseload.

You will be onboarding and tracking new partners to help them through the development process and reporting partner status to team members and business unit.  As well as traveling to new partner sites to assist with their adoption of the HID/Mercury SDK.

You will provide customer support via email and phone with strong writing skills and excellent phone manner, respectively. As well as administer partner portal to include, but not limited to, knowledge base articles, FAQs, documentation, videos, and other content.


What we are looking for:

A strong candidate will also possess knowledge in security industry (VertX product and/or Mercury production is a plus). We are looking for someone who is passionate about exceeding customer expectations, have confidence and strong interest in problem solving with the ability to identify opportunities for process and product improvement. Furthermore, be able to identify opportunities for process and product improvement with the ability to work independently to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.  As well as the ability to be flexible, learn quickly in a fast paced environment, possess strong attention to detail, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree in a technical subject or 5+ years of experience in access control field .  They must have excellent telephone/interpersonal/communication skills. Other key skills include critical thinking, problem solving skills, the ability to quickly engage in situations, assess alternative courses of action, anticipate issues and implement programs and tactics to drive effective change to customers   

Key computer skills include, Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, etc. Understanding of virtualization and use of VM Mare or other similar products. In depth knowledge of programming languages (C/C++, C#, .NET) to be able to review logs and small code snippets. As well as experience with operation and connectivity of network devices (i.e. hubs/routers/switches).
