HID Licenses Prox by HIDTM Technology to Keri Systems

New Licensing Agreement Will Expand Range of HID-Compatible Products.

Irvine, CA (January 10, 2000) HID Corporation of Irvine, California and Keri Systems, Inc. of San Jose, California, jointly announce that HID has licensed Keri under HID's U.S. patent numbers 4546241, 47730188, 50411826 and 5166676. Further details of the agreement are confidential.

HID Corporation has reached an agreement to license its popular Prox by HID technology to Keri Systems. Under the terms of the contract, HID will share its intellectual property with Keri, thus allowing Keri to develop HID-compatible reader products. Keri plans to make the enhanced readers available in March.

"Our recent licensing agreements have resulted in a variety of products that share the common denominator of Prox by HID proximity technology," said Don Nelson, President of HID Corporation. "The industry now has the ability to choose from a wide selection of card readers, biometric devices, door hardware and alarm panels that are compatible with one another. The new Keri product will further expand the range of options that are designed around HID's patented technology."

Added Scott Lindley, Director, Keri Systems RIFD Products, "The new Prox by HID-enabled Keri Pyramid Series Proximity readers will represent the best of both of our technologies. Dealers and end-users will benefit from the expanded selection of products that share the common denominator of HID technology."
